Why not expand the wireless networks? It’s cheaper and more effective. Why are we pandering to the cable companies? One such solution is the expansion of the 600 MHz cell phone coverage being rolled out (slowly) by T-Mobile. It has twice the range and four times the building penetration of current cell frequencies. Expanding cable means using MORE taxpayer money, and I sincerely doubt, fiber will ever get to my house. But a 600 MHz transceiver on the closest cell towers? That would be heaven!
