Winter wheat emergence in Washington was 96 percent as of the 19th, and in Oregon it’s 80 percent.
USDA Meteorologist Brad Rippey said nationally, winter wheat is right where it usually is.
“Everything coming up 88 percent this week. 88 percent is the current number of November 19th, 88 percent is the five-year average, and that is the same number as what we had this time last year for emergence.”
As far as winter wheat condition, Rippey had less good news.
“We did see a little bit of a slide in condition for the week ending November 19th. Last week we were at 54 percent good to excellent, that’s now down to 52 percent.”
In Oregon, winter wheat condition is 77 percent good to excellent and in Washington, it sits at 76 percent.
